Today was the first day I used my Humble Twin Blade razor from the Dollar Shave Club. I’ve been having such a good time with my safety razors, but I wanted to give the Dollar Shave Club a try.
It’s a perfectly fine razor. Blades seem nice and sharp. However, with the thick lather that the shaving soap creates, it felt like the space between the two blades filled up fast. And I felt like I wasn’t taking off any whiskers.
I rinsed the blades several times and ended up with a nice shave. Cheeks were nice and smooth. Neck and Adam’s apple area were not as smooth as making three passes with a safety razor.
Now that I’ve been using the safety razors, I really prefer them.
Here’s a link to my Instagram page showing the razor and the super-thick lather I created with the Van de Hagen “Deluxe” soap. Love that stuff!
Every morning I post the shaving gear I use. So feel free to follow my IG page.
*Yes, I used the Kirk’s soap to wash my hair. I only do it rarely, but I’ve never had any issues with it. It’s great, basic soap.
